Kind of brings to mind the idea of a viscious fate driven cycle of the rise and fall of civilization....
and more relevantly...the recent economic instability?
I dunno...the inevitability of it all? Thus the "surrender".
It's quite revolutionary in some ways really....that peace might be acheived not by overcoming destiny, but by succumbing to the dissolution of hope.
